How is an inheritance distributed?
The distribution of an inheritance takes place after the deceased person's passing and is carried out among the legal heirs or designated beneficiaries in accordance with the provisions of Turkish Civil Law. The method of distribution may vary depending on the number of heirs, the assets included in the estate, the existence of a will and whether the heirs are able to reach an agreement.
Where the heirs agree on the distribution, the estate may be divided through a mutual settlement.
